Monday, 15 September 2014 00:00 THE MAN GOD USES OVERVIEW SCRIPTURE: And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgins name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luke 1:26-28 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One of the best things that can happen to anybody is to be chosen by God to fulfil His agenda on earth. One of the best things that can happen to anybody or the greatest achievement on earth is to be chosen by God to fulfil His agenda on earth. To partner with God, either in government, industry, or ministry, is the best thing that can happen to anybody. To partner with God is to live a life that is beneficial to both Heaven and earth. What makes a person qualified like Mary to be chosen to fulfil the purpose of God? God uses people who have no reason to boast. When you look at the story of Mary, the Bible says that the angel was sent to Galilee. The angel was not sent to Jerusalem, or any of the other larger cities in Israel. History shows that Galilee was a highly despised land among the Jews. As a matter of fact, it is said that Galilee shared borders with the Gentiles, so Mathew 4:15 called it Galilee of the Gentiles, and the Jews did not want to have anything to do with the Gentiles. This was why they were contesting whether Jesus was really a prophet in John chapter 7 and in verse 52. They never believed that Galilee could produce anything good. Also, in John 1:46, the same doubt was expressed by Nathaniel concerning Nazareth. That was the kind of place God went to locate a village girl engaged to a village carpenter to bring forth the Messiah of the world. God specialises in using people who cannot take the glory; people that will consider their handicaps and inadequacies, and realise that anything God is doing with them couldn’t have been because of their effort. Remember this: one of the best things that can happen to anybody is to be chosen by God to fulfil His agenda on earth. ASSIGNMENT (S): God resists the proud. Ask God to help you to get rid of every form of pride in your life. Prayerfully, find out your purpose on earth if you have not yet done so.
