Overnight temperatures falling to between 16 and 21 with daytime temperatures reaching 27 to 32. Fire Danger - High UV Alert from 8:00 am to 4:10 pm, UV Index predicted to reach 14 [Extreme] Bundaberg 21 30 Gympie 20 29 Hervey Bay 22 30 Kingaroy 15 27 Maryborough 20 30 Gayndah 19 32 Weather Situation An upper level trough lies through central Queensland, with a moist and unstable airmass to its north. The upper trough is expected to weaken from Monday. A monsoon trough extends through the Gulf of Carpentaria into Cape York Peninsula and across the northern Coral Sea to a developing monsoon low southwest of the Solomon Islands. The monsoon low is expected to deepen over the next few days and possibly move west through the Coral Sea, though a great deal of uncertainty exists with its movement. Forecasts from Tuesday are highly dependent on the development and movement of this system. A large high over southeastern Australia will move slowly east over the Tasman Sea during the forecast period, extending a firm ridge along the east Queensland coast to the south of the monsoon trough.
