Monday, 2nd September BE AN ALL-ROUND SUCCESS “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8) Success from God’s perspective has nothing to do with a man’s position in life or how much he possesses. Jesus said a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things he possesses (Luke 12:15). The Message Translation puts it this way: “Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot.” How true! Real success is found in Christ and in His Word. That’s why the Lord gave Joshua the recipe for success in Joshua 1:8—meditating on the Word day and night! That’s the infallible recipe for the God-kind of success. This kind of success is total; it’s in all areas of your life. It means you’re excellent in every single aspect of your life: you’re growing spiritually, prospering financially, excelling at school or in business, and dealing wisely in the affairs of life. The Lord doesn’t want you good in some areas of your life and ineffective in some other areas. He desires that you have a balanced and successful life. That’s the life He’s set before you. If you’re born again, you’re already a success! The seed of success is in your spirit. This is the set time for you to experience good success in everything you do. How? The secret is in the Word—it’s by meditating on the Word day and night, speaking the Word to yourself until it takes over your thought processes! If you would do this, everything you do will prosper. You’ll be an excellent businessman, an excellent parent, an excellent student, and of course an excellent Christian! You’ll be an all-round success. Prayer: Precious Father, thank you for your word today, showing me how to be an all-round success. As I devote time to meditating on your word, I receive supernatural insight and understanding on how to handle every situation and excel in every area of life, in Jesus wondrous Name. Amen.
