Monday 3 February PRAYING FOR OTHERS Meditation: “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before” (Job 42:10). Text: Job 42:1-10 God wants you to join Him in His great plan of salvation for the world; He wants you to begin your work with Him in prayer. Through prayer you can have a remarkable influence in your neighbourhood or workplace. Your prayers can go where you can’t go, and they can do what you can’t do. That’s because God, the Lord of heaven and earth, chooses to work through you as a praying believer in Christ. As you pray for those around you, you become a co-worker with God to bless them, giving them the opportunity to believe and be saved, and to become part of the family of God. God will be working through you to build up His church and extend His kingdom. If we begin to pray for the leaders of our nation instead of condemning them they will become an instrument in the hand of God, for God will have all men to be save and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1Tim. 2:3, 4). Pray for your immediate and extended family that the grace of God that brings salvation will appear to them that they may live a life of godliness. When Job prayed for His friend God visited him and restored all that he lost. Don’t be too consume about your own needs and miss the opportunity to intercede for those around you for whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap. Pray for the expansion of God’s kingdom that the word of God should take root in the hearts of people that they may be established in the faith. As you intercede you are fulfilling Christ’s ministry for He ever liveth to make intercession for the saints. As you yield yourself to the Holy Spirit He will empower you to pray and enforce God’s will in your environment. Prayer Requests: 1. Pray for the salvation of your friends and family members. 2. Pray for the salvation of the leaders of this nation. 3. Ask God to restore His blessings upon your life and family. Daily Bible Reading: (Ex. 34-36; Matt. 25)
