Monday 4th August 2014 marks the Centenary of the beginning of Australias involvement in World War 1. One hundred years later, the brutal fact that 62,000 young Australians were sacrificed on the European killing fields for the glory of God, King and Country in a dirty little trade war fought by workers at either end of a bayonet, has been air brushed from this countrys history. At 11.30am-12-30pm on Monday 4th August we call on Australians to JOIN US at the corner of ANZAC AVE & ST KILDA Rd, Melbourne. Opposite Victoria Barracks, next to tram stop 18; adjacent to the Floral Clock opposite the entrance to the Shrine of Remembrance to bear witness to the horrible truth. Without the involvement of the Industrial Workers of the World, the Roman Catholic Church lead by Archbishop Mannix, large sections of the trade union movement, the womens movement and anarchist and socialists who came together to defeat Conscription Referendums in 1916 and 1917, its no exaggeration to say another 60,000 would have been sacrificed on Mammons altar. Join us. Reclaim the past to understand the present and change the future. NEVER AGAIN! Dr. Joseph Toscano, spokesperson Anarchist media Institute.
