Monday, 5th January. THE SECRET OF THE EAGLE. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31 KJV). I was once instructed to carefully study every animal that God has likened us to in the scriptures. Understanding them exposes you to the kind of life God expects us to live and the subsequent results we should have in our lives. One of such animals is the eagle. i. The first secret of the eagle is its mentality. Just like the lion that believes it is the strongest animal in the forest, so also the eagle believes it is not just the strongest bird, it is also the highest flying bird in the air. It is said that the eagle can mount up on flight to about fifteen thousand feet above sea level, which is 4,572 meters. That is the height of air planes. In 1973 an eagle collided with a plane near Ivory Coast at 11,277km above sea level. Now that is very strange, but such is an eagle. That is why God compared us to the eagle. ii. And because it believes it is meant to be the highest flying bird, it pays the price to remain so. - The eagle knows the act of separation for power and flight. It is said that at a certain time in the eagles life it would fly to a very high mountain he remain there for forty days, during which it would pluck off its feathers and then remain there until new ones grow. When this happens it would mount upon the winds and aim for the highest height ever. Just to prove that it is the king of the air. That is why God said, they that wait upon the Lord shall mount up with wings as eagles. As you partake of this years fast God will give you new feathers and wings to fly high in Jesus Name. Assignment. i. Do all in your power to make sure that you dont mess up this years fast. ii. Ask God to take you really high as you fast this year. Prayer. -Lord I receive the grace to really mount up higher than ever as I wait upon you in prayer and fasting this January. -I conquer by the Holy Ghost all forms of weight that will prevent my flight in Jesus Name.
