Monday Evening Update on Randy: July 7..,sorry this is late tonight! Weve just been sitting here actually having a wonderful conversation. Like about just stuff. The kids and grands, our blessed state, many of you. Its wonderful to chat with Randy again! Hes more and more like himself each day...smiling and more alert. He even has the some twinkle to his eyes!! Oh how Ive missed him. You know, the part of Randy that makes him, well, Randy!! Hes definitely the favored one around here! Even if the nurses or PCTs arent assigned to us, they all come by for a visit.,, many tell him that they are praying for him and just want to check on you, brother! We are so blessed by our new friends. We are waiting for a late night praise and worship private mini concert from one of our PCT gals!! This one particularly comes in during the night and prays over Randy----I hear her praying out loud! It is wonderful!!! Very little clinical news today: weight is down about 2 pounds, blood levels a bit low, so we had blood tonight. Appetite seems to increase during the day--for lunch, he actually ate three chicken fingers from Guthries and a few fries! I was so proud of him!! The blood cultures are negative for any infections---another answered prayer. Therefore, we anticipate the pic line going in tomorrow. Specific prayer needs; procedures that must be completed, for his own body to begin producing red and white blood cells in favorable amounts, for his food intake to multiply exponentially in calories, and as always, for his mind and spirit. We are choosing to fix our minds on things that are good and true and lovely and of good report! My brother Matt led me to this passage today... It will be crucial for our minds to be centered on what God is doing as the process may be longer than anyone would hope. We will do whatever the docs tell us, when they tell us, as they tell us...we realize that God is leading us triumphantly. We have the YES of Christ....and if Dukemama was here, shed be singing Standing on the promises of God! Now THAT is a concert Id love to hear---and I just bet, somewhere in Heaven tonight, thats exactly what youd find her doing! Gnight from Room 7328!!
