Monday, I was walking to lunch with other staff and two outsiders- teachers from other colleges coming to do a review of our department... one of the men was talking about a YouTube video of these teenagers who live in California and went out dancing in the rain.... and he said, Yes, I can see when you are young, and experience rain for the FIRST time, but when youre a teenager....(something to the effect of:) grow up, let it go ...I did not say anything but I wanted to, so I will say it all to you ;) Do you want to know what makes me so happy, so in awe, so full of love, so moved to tears DAILY?? Its simple. Do not let yourself become dull to the physical world around you... Wake up every day with fresh eyes... do not let sunshine become routine to you (its a freakin ball of gas in the middle of outer space that provides enough energy for us all to survive!).... do not let the Beating of your HEART become mundane. Do you know how PRECIOUS that is, how PRECIOUS you are. There will never be another you. Drops of water falling from the sky? UH hello.... thats kinda crazy, lil kids know (see video)! Can you look at your hands and be present to the absurdity it is to have four fingers and a thumb? lol or eyes and wiring to your brain that literally FLIP around the world you see so you perceive it right side up... and last but not least, to the subatomic particles that are at their most basic element... not matter (I REPEAT... NOT SOLID) but energy... being from non-being. form from the formless... Go beyond the superficial and really SEE these things...the beauty... gets me every time.
