Monday, January 05, 2015 Good morning, Read: 2 Thessalonians 3: 3; Psalm 91: 1-8 GOD’S DIVINE PROTECTION “But the Lord is faithful who shall establish you, and keep you from evil” 2 Thessalonians 3:3 In the beginning God made man in His image and likeness and was in close fellowship with him. Sin brought a separation and consequent exposure to the devil and his devices. Christ Jesus came into the world to redeem man back to God and to restore the fellowship and privileges of sonship. Included in the privilege is divine protection of all who call on the name of the Lord. The believer can therefore totally rely on God’s intervention and deliverance in time of trials and challenges. Whether we pass through fire, we can be sure of His abiding presence and consequently protection (Isa. 43: 1-2). The devil, our adversary, is moving around seeking whom to devour. While we cannot prevent him from seeking his prey, we can keep ourselves out of his reach by staying under God’s cover. We ensure this when we live according to Biblical injunctions and divine guidance. It means that we cannot afford careless moments. We need daily to be watchful and prayerful. We should flee all appearances of evil and abhor anything that will grant the enemy access into our lives. Total obedience to God must be our watchword. Prayer: Dear God, have mercy upon our inadequacies. Encompass us with your power, angels and presence to annihilate all the ubiquitous empires of darkness in our lives in Jesus name – Amen.
