Monday, January 26: Have you ever wondered if you were in the right place, doing the right thing? I am certain that I am. Tonight we attended the Bowie Chamber of Commerce Banquet. Dane was welcomed by so many people and we had the opportunity to visit with the people of our great community. I was honored to be asked to come and give the invocation. It was such a blessing for me to be able to pray for the community which has prayed so much for us. We were honored later that evening by the Chamber and we were given a granite tile with our names to be placed on a new community project, the Bowie Knife Project. How humbling to be honored in this way. They showed the Sunday’s Comin’ video and even though Diran and I have seen it multiple times – it is still so emotional. For me though, the most emotional thing was the people we visited with who have literally walked this road with us. Such a humbling blessing to be able to hear how God has worked in their lives. I grew up in the city but I am so thankful to call a small town “home”. The word ‘community’ is a compound word; “com” means with and “unity” means what the word says…unity or being unified or having a common union. In short, God wants believers to dwell in union and in community having the same mind that is in Jesus Christ I am so thankful for a community we now call family that has stood in the gap for us. I am thankful that my children got to see what a community that comes together looks like. I am thankful that God works out the details in our lives: That He moved me to a small North Texas town because I fell in love with this amazing country boy, that He allows us to have a safe place to raise our children, and that He brings us together so that we might show the world that God is big! So as I prayed tonight – “God bless Bowie, TX”. I hope each of you have your own “Bowie”, and that you know that in fact, there are good and great people in this world. “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” Psalms 133:1 Glory to God….Sunday’s coming…….
