Monday, January 5, 2015 This is an update on Don. Don and I are fed up with not being able to clear up his very painful swallowing problem. I called the ENT doctors office and insisted they talk to the doctor and do something to get rid of the problem immediately. He had his assistant call me back and he ordered a cat scan of his ear down to his clavicle. We got that done and asked that they send the report to the doctor today. In the meantime, we went to Dons appointment with the orthopedic surgeon and he said two of the four tendons in his should are totally torn and retracting back. He said he needs to have surgery and soon. We scheduled it for this Wednesday. We had to go to the hospital to get blood work and an ekg done. While we were doing that, the ENT doctor called me personally to let me know that the results from the cat scan show an abnormal thickening of the inside of his esophagus. We do not know what is causing this yet. He had me set an appointment with a gastroenterologist for tomorrow to discuss having an upper endoscopy at 9:45am in San Marcos, Tx. I am going to try to get him to do this test the same day so Don is going to fast. Due to the plans for tomorrow, the ENT doctor said to postpone the shoulder surgery until we find out a diagnosis on the esophagus. We will schedule it as soon as allowed. It really made me feel good that after I told the girls and John, John wanted to pray for Don right then. Please pray for Don....we know God is in control.
