Monday Memories Of Gerald LeVert: On May 3rd of 1985, My Dad Passed Apprx 2am. A Surprise To The Intire Family. To This Day, Its Uncomfortable To Hear The Phone Ring At That Time Of Morning. I Arrived 25 mins After The Call, And Sat By His Side In The Livingroom. I Remember Trimbling Because, One Of My Sisters Were Driving From Mission Viejo To Join Us. I Feared For Her Focus, Praying For Her To Concentrate Being On The Road, Although She Arrived Safely. I Had A Recording Session At Noon That Same Day With LeVert. We Were Scheduled To Record 3 Songs That Day. I Called To Tell Them The Sad News, And That I May Not Show Up. Well, I Did Go To The Studio. Everyone Was Surprised And Said What Are You Doing Here, My Reply Was My Pops, Would Want Me To Be Here, Instead Of Staying Home Tripn! Marc Gordon Started To Show Me Some Chords To Play For The First Song To Be Recorded. He Played So Good That I Told Him, Man, You Play It, Because That Sounds Great! So, He Did. We Built The Track Around Marcs Piano Part. To Make A Long Story Short, It Was Ironic That This Song Had Pop In The Title, and Became A LeVert Classic, That Gerald Also Recorded For Me On My Caught Up In A Moment Album. Pop Pop Goes My Mind Was The Song, And Will Always Remain Special To Me In Honor Of My Pops! Gerald Insisted On Singing The Lead Vocal, While I Play The Melody On My Guitar. I Only Called Him To Sing The Background Parts. I Never Got A Chance To Tell G Why I Wanted To Record The Song For My Own Album, But Im Sure He Figured It Out! ...Lol...Pops & Gerald (R.I.P) ...with Craig T Cooper Page II, Carlysia Levert, LeMicah Levert
