Monday Night Leadership Class Pearls: As A Scholar, It is Very Important to Have the Right Answer Recognizing, Acknowledging and Removing Your Limiting Beliefs October 20, 2014 Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Yahshua the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim.” Aischyne: the confusion of one who is ashamed of anything, sense of shame, ignominy, disgrace, dishonor, a thing to be ashamed of Many people lack the courage that Christ possessed; Christ despised the shame by being nailed to the cross, ridiculed and judged of men. Nevertheless, he did all of this to usher in YHWH’s salvation. Shame keeps people in bondage especially when they do not have the right answer or lack knowledge. If you lack the courage to despise the shame, it will keep you in bondage. Many families operate under the belief that whatever happens in the home, stays in the home. They would rather hide their sin than to deal with the shame of their sin. Unfortunately, some would rather keep the shame instead of getting true deliverance. Whenever you cover up shame, bondage remains. Thus, it is imperative that you recognize, acknowledge and remove your limiting beliefs. Some people believe that if other people knew their shame, they would be viewed differently. This is only true if you constantly walk in your shame instead of the deliverance of Christ. The opposite of shame is open testimony. In Hebrews 12:2, Christ despises the shame of the cross because of the joy that was set before him. Yahshua remembered his goal, which was to endure the cross and to rule at the right hand of the Father. A lot of people forget their goals while trying to cover up their shame. Too many people are not looking for the right answer but the answer that appeases them and keeps them in their comfort zone. Christ doesn’t save you in your comfort zone. He saves you when you are outside of your comfort zone. Christ makes you feel uncomfortable; a true anointing makes you uncomfortable because it shakes you of things that do not profit you. (Hebrews 12:27 “And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.”) Christ comes into our lives to shake our limiting beliefs. People are afraid to acknowledge their limiting beliefs because doing so will force them to confront their shame. Thus, a person who is perceived as strong may be fearful about acknowledging his/her shortcomings or limiting beliefs. Christ demands that we walk through and past our fears. In order to recognize a limiting belief, you must walk in honesty. When you don’t walk in honesty, you are hiding a shame. When you hold onto your shame, you keep someone else in bondage. In Revelations, it says they overcame the beast by their testimony. It’s your testimony that gives you victory and the power and might of YHWH. Pearl: When you believe that your team is not good enough, you blame your team for its ineffectiveness and not yourself. Additionally, you don’t invest the time in making your team the success it was called to be. In Christ, you don’t form your own team nor can you trade members. Christ brings you the players that you have to train. Judas doesnt have the power to invade your inner circle; Rather, Christ places/allows Judas in your circle. Judas is needed to get you where you need to go. We were called to influence the world. You can’t influence the word when you constantly argue and work against your team. You cannot judge people for their future sins. In ministry, you cannot hold people accountable for sins that you discern they will commit in the future. Rather you have to deposit in them what the Spirit demands at that time. Leaders who lose influence can only regain their influence by humbling themselves. When you are seeking answered prayer, it is important that you submit to the people YHWH has commanded and not engage in arguments with Yahs anointed. Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as Elohim hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Each human being was created with limited capabilities. What allows us to go beyond these limitations is our faith. For religious people, new information may bring confusion. However, 1st Corinthians 14:33 teaches that confusion is not of YHWH: “For YHWH is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” Insecure leaders try to be a Jack of All Trades. Strong leaders know to delegate responsibilities to develop leadership capacity in others. Moreover, great leaders leave a succession of leadership. It’s a sin to deny what you are battling. When you deny what you are battling, you are seeking to hide and not despising the shame. Often times, people feel as if their temptation defines who they are yet it is the word of Christ that defines our identity. Again, the opposite of shame is testimony. We all have things that try to define us through shame. It is not a sin to be tempted. We don’t have power over that which we are drawn. But we have power through Christ to overcome temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but YHWH is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” Every man is tempted when he is led astray by his own lusts. Sin is not about relationship but pleasure. Yakov (James) 1:14-15 “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” Some people take advantage of grace or the fact that Christ will forgive us for our sins by returning to the very thing that tempts and entices them. #Bishop
