Monday, November 18, 2013 Father, I claim in the name of Jesus your son that the Cleveland Clinic will have its accreditation before Billie must go for her surgery. We claim this to be so in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. AMEN! Let it be done. Lord God, all I can say is HELP America. Please pray for Billie’s body to be healed by the power of God, adding in a friend of Kathy’s whose name is Dave who needs prayer for healing, for Rick to be healed and receive God’s Wisdom. Please lift Mark up in prayer. For everyone to study the word daily. These are three very much needed prayers. 2 Peter 2: 17-22. This ends chapter 2 False Teachers and Their Destruction 17 These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. This was spoken to the people about the false teachers then. Let’s put this in today’s perspective. We are each teachers for someone who we come in contact with especially our children. Relating this to our walk with God you need to check and see if you are full of the love of God or are you dried up like the springs without water. Do you walk in darkness or do you have the light of Jesus in your heart? 18 For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. In putting this in relation to today, do you speak about living a life that is holy before God or are you so wrapped up in the world that you no longer even mention him. Are you an example of the peace of God, or do you spout out empty nothings? 19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” Are you an example to your children, family and friends of how God is or do you let them see that you are still walking in the darkness of your own misery? It is said that we are slaves to whatever masters us. Is God your master or does Satan have a foothold on you and making you do the things you really would not do if you were walking with God. Do you let your past consume your life today? Our past can kill our future. 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. This is so vitally important! Have you ever given your heart to God and accepted His Son as your Savior? Well if you have and if you have put him on a back burner again, and if you have gotten caught up in the everyday way of life without seeking God daily, you are truly in for a rude awakening. Your life will become worse than it was before you accepted him the first time. I know this to be so true because it happened to me and it was horrible, my life just kept getting out of control. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Just like this scripture says, it would have been better if you had not known the Lord in the beginning, because once you turn your back on God, Satan has free reign over your life. You have done away with the protection of our Lord and traded it for Satan’s deadly arrows. They penetrate your heart and even though you think things are somewhat good it is only going to get worse, the longer you go and do not return to Jesus. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.” It is said that we go back to the ways we were before we met Jesus but we go back 100 times worse than we were before. We find ourselves doing worse things than we did. If we had a black heart filled with ugliness, it is going to be worse than before. If we hated our past it is going to overwhelm us without Christ. If you were a thief before you met the Lord you will end up doing what you did before only with a vengeance this time. Psalms 124: 6-8 this ends chapter 124 A song of ascents. Of David. 6 Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. This could actually go along with the book of 2 Peter. If we do not have the Lord, we can be torn apart by our enemies, especially Satan. But Praise God with Him we are kept safe. 7 We have escaped like a bird from the Fowler snare, the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. God has given us a way out of the trap we sometimes get in. He has shown us where all the exits are to get away from those who try to destroy us. 8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. God is our help in all things. Are you depressed? Seek God! Are you mad at the world? Seek God! Do you need the peace that surpasses all human understanding? Seek God! God Bless you, Me
