Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 The remnants of Karen merge with a frontal boundary and head through the state. Once the front clears Central Florida by early Tuesday, drier air returns for the rest of the work week. Today, southwest winds warm the region above normal. Even with mostly cloudy skies, high temperatures reach the upper 80s to 90 degrees. The remnants of Karen and a weak front bring scattered showers and storms. Tonight, showers and storms head toward the coast. Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies and some lingering rain overnight. Low temperatures will be mild, in the low to mid 70s. Tomorrow, the front sits just to our south, taking some moisture with it. Isolated showers at best are expected through the afternoon. High temperatures stay above normal, in the upper 80s to 90 degrees. Through the rest of the work week, high pressure begins building back into Central Florida. Onshore winds develop, keeping relatively stable air in place. Isolated showers are possible, with best rain chances in the morning along the coast, and farther inland during the afternoon. Temperatures stay warm and close to normal, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and overnight lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s. In the tropics, the remnants of Karen merge with a front. There is no chance for re-development. A tropical wave west of the Cape Verde Islands continues moving west-northwest. In the next few days there is a medium chance for development, before upper level winds become unfavorable. The rest of the tropics remain quiet.
