Monday, October 28, 2013 Bitterness of soul And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore (1 Samuel 1:10 KJV). Hannah knew without a doubt that the Lord would bless her with a man child. She did not stay where she was being provoked or hindered by those who surrounded her, but she ran and wept in the courts of God. Hannah wanted a son so bad. She wasnt about to let anything stop her. The bitterness arose within her greatly. Hurt and jealousy began to arouse her emotions uncontrollably, and she began to seek the Lord with great anguish. When our souls hurt for something so bad, it isnt the time to look for it in the world, but the time to cry out to the Lord our God. She fasted and prayed, then her wants and desires turned to anguish and sorrow. Anguish took over her heart. She was not about to leave the presence of the Lord without an answer or a touch from God. Church, this is the point we need to get to. We must desire more of Christ Jesus, not just for ourselves but for our loved ones to be set free. We need to cry out with deep sorrow and anguish and listen to the chains break off from them. Let us not lose hope in our prayers. It took nine months before Samuel was born, and it might take nine months before our prayers are answered. God bless you. Amen
