Monday September 8, 2014. Jess had another good day!!! She is able to be awake longer and getting back to her fun self!!!! She has started making these noises with her trach that she now thinks is fun!! Its kind of like a little piglet grunt!!! Then she will do it when a nurse walks in and makes her eyes real big....and her hair is all wild and a huge dreadlock/matted/rats nest that I cannot seem to even get my finger thru makes her look like a gremlin! (ANY advice how to get thru it?? I have tried conditioner detangler and hair oil. ) And that smile!!! Lights up my heart and the room! I can never say enough how much I have missed seeing it and even more so these last 3 weeks!! She has been able to sit in a chair with a LOT of help!! She can shake her legs back and forth and has started pulling her knees up but she cannot stand or even put pressure on her feet. This will be a lot of therapy! ! Her left arm is probably the hardest to get it to do what she wants but in time she will. After the chair today she will be put back in bed and another chest xray to see her lungs and both tubes. Prayers that her right one is healing and her left one isnt collecting fluid!! Possible removal of one or both! They will also try to keep doing vent trials to wean her off but they are talking about putting a smaller trach In with the valve that will allow her to talk and eat!!! First thing she wants when she gets better is my Baked Spaghetti and milk!! Lol! She really loved having josh there...those two always giggling! He brought her a portable DVD player so she has Dumb and Dumber. Anchorman one and two, Hangover, Family Vacation and Old school!! Fun great movies that she watches about 20 min and falls asleep!! Her Grandma Sue and Bob are with her today which allowed me to come home. So thankful for that!!! She will eventually transfer to a long term acute care facility and we are praying she can improve enough and be stable enough and figure out how to transport to Houston!! It really would be a HUGE blessing to have her here!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PRAY for those! !! We dont know anything about the hospitals available here in houston, Sugarland or cypress that offer more specialized Drs for her many Issues in regards to vent, heart, pulmonary etc.... so If anyone has advice, recommendations, good or bad experiences please let us know!!! Am going to look into Kindred!! Life Care in San Antonio is the one they are talking about now. But all of her physicians have to agree that she is ready to be moved and possibilities of a setback are minimal. So thats my update for now!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONTINUED PRAYERS!!! AND THANK YOU TO MY FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS AT POPE WHO HAVE STEPPED IN TO FILL MY ROLE AS VP OF PANTHER PRIDE STORE!!! Jaqueline and Adrienne HUGE hugs!!!!!
