Monday morning update. Last night, Daddy was discharged from the hospital and sent home. Understandably, my Mom and I had about 50 million questions. Why send him home now when just yesterday, we were gowned, in gloves and face masks to go in? Has the lung bacteria been identified? What is his cardiac status? What about GI? (Personally, having been through the colonoscopy prep six times, Id much rather go through it with an IV attached so fluids can be given to prevent dehydration - starting an IV in a dehydrated patient is not fun.) Bacteria is not TB, Legionnaires or HIV, which are the big three they tested for because the bacteria is so atypical and hes on Levaquin. Cardiac, they pulled him off his beta blockers because his heart rate was dangerously low, and his BP was normal in the hospital. GI follow-up will be done locally. Thank you to everyone who has sent messages, called, checked on us and prayed for us. I showed my FB page to my parents yesterday and they went through each and every post. I appreciate each and every one of you and if I could hug you all, I would.
