Monday my son should have turned eight, instead of planning a party, I had to figure out a way to honor him and his memory. My fiance and I did a balloon release and it was therapeutic standing there in the cemetery watching the eight light blue and light pink (the colors of the SIDS ribbon) disappear into the sky. This whole month is tough on me, due to the fact that he only lived thirty-nine short days. I have my good days and I have my good days, my bad days, and then days like today when I wish I could just hide under the covers all day and cry. No parent should ever outlive their child, no family should ever have to endure this pain.
