~ Monday with Chemo! – December 22nd It has been quite a week; beginning with an infection I developed last Tuesday in my nasal passage and lungs. It ‘laid me pretty low’ but fortunately, no aches, fever, or chills ensued. However, my appetite fell to almost nothing but things began to subside on Saturday. I hoped I would be sufficiently well enough to have today’s scheduled infusion. Then, things hit another unexpected, ‘bump-in he road.’ Arriving for my pre-infusion blood work at Buffalo Medical Group I was told their analyzing equipment was awaiting repair. So, rather than having that done in-house for my Oncologist on a 15-minute turn-around, my blood now had to be drawn and sent out for analysis before he could review them. Thus, my scheduled 12:3O PM blood draw for a 12:45 review and hopefully, 1:15 PM infusion actually wound up a 12:45 PM infusion. The good news was that my first inoculation of ANANESP to boost my HEMGOLOBIN and marrow function last week had great results. My HEMOGLOBIN number is now 10 and l won’t need to have another one unless my tests show that number has dropped below 10. Thankfully, my week ended on a high note! Now, well se when my ability to overcome todays steroid boost allow me some sleep. So, have a good week and s joyous Christmas holiday.
