Mondays featured Dog…Cyrano! Cyrano is a young guy, looking for a unique home. He loves his foster family and is always excited to see them, following them around with a smile on his face. He is also very social with dogs, he loves all of his buddies and foster siblings that have since found their forever homes. You can always find him close to his foster dads heel trying to help out with yard work or playing with the other dogs. Here is the catch – Cyrano does not enjoy physical contact. When most people think of a puppy or new dog friend they imagine cuddling on the couch, getting kisses and sharing some pets. But in doggy language all of those things can be really scary, especially for a young guy who started life with no human contact. Cyrano hopes to find a family who, like his foster parents, respects that he may never be that cuddly dog, he may never want to receive much physical attention. He has learned to be okay with some handling and grooming which is important for a healthy dog life and with time he may come to find more enjoyment in physical attention, but that should be an open option in his forever home not a requirement. It will be important for Cyrano to find a home with a secure dog who can help guide him and help him bond with his new parents. Also, unlike most dogs, Cyrano actually prefers to be outside so he would choose living as an outdoor farm or acreage dog as long as he has a warm place for the nights and colder days. He is a great companion for another dog and someone who just likes to have a happy, smiling face around to keep them company!
