Monroe County Sheriffs Dept., News Release October 18, 2013 The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reports a one vehicle crash that occurred on October 18, 2013 around 2:10a.m. on State Highway 27 four tenths of a mile south of Eagle Avenue in the township of Little Falls. A 2005 Chevy pickup truck operated by Donald Conrad age 38 of Melrose, WI was southbound on State Highway 27 negotiating a curve when his vehicle went onto the gravel shoulder on the west side of the highway. The driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to cross the highway and leave the roadway on the east side. The vehicle entered a ditch, struck an embankment and rolled over one time before coming to rest on its wheels. The driver was transported to Mayo Clinic Healthcare in Sparta by The Sparta Ambulance Service then transferred to Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse by Med-Link Air. His condition is unknown at the time of this release. There were no other occupants in the vehicle. Assisting the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office were the Monroe County 911 Communication Center, Sparta Fire District, Sparta Ambulance Service, Cataract First Responders and the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office.
