Monsoon season is officially upon us which means that Colorado River Toads will be out in the puddles, possibly in your yards or even seen on walks! These toads excrete a toxin that is absorbed by the mucus membranes -- most often, dogs pick them up in their mouths and absorb the toxin. Symptoms include brick-red gums, irritation, disorientation, and even seizures. Call is immediately if you suspect your pet has come into contact with one!
