Monsters are not born, we create them. Each time we laugh at a childs expense, whenever we make them into something they are not instead of something they are meant to be, the times we are too busy too listen but never too busy to criticize. When we favor others above our own, create goals we could never achieve ourselves and set them up to be failures. A frown instead of a hug, a shrug where a cheer should be. Each rejection, each you are not good enough, another knife wound to a gentle and emerging soul. The next time you choose that. Whatever that may be, over them, you place a nail in thier heart and thier ability to deal with a very cruel world. Teach responsibility ,not just to themselves but to others, kindness in ALL things, that winning feels amazing but defeat builds character, that tears come from ones soul and are never a sign of weakness, that riches and value are from within...the rest is window dressing that will not bring happiness...these lessons will mold our future and thiers
