Montgomery Society... Im thinking its about time to diversify the gene pool... Guests enjoyed beverages served in the back yard and in the beautiful kitchen; and mingled around the dining rooms table, which was topped with a copper pot banked with pumpkins and gourds, complemented with fall-colored mums and roses, heather, blue thistle and croton leaves. All eventually took seats throughout the home and outside to dine on Jennie Wellers menu for the night that included paella casserole with shrimp and rotisserie chicken; tenderloin of beef with Stilton sauce; roasted salmon on a bed of vegetable quinoa; roasted sweet potatoes; asparagus mimosas with chilled hollandaise; spinach, tomato and corn salad; and chocolate truffles and pumpkin parfaits for dessert. Henry Pugh, who entertains regularly at Sous La Terre underground downtown, played favorites on Lauries grand piano for the occasion. As the perfect ending to the special evening, he accompanied Laurie, Shelia and Lisa Weil, who were joined by Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange and his wife, Linda, as they sang New York, New York and Moon River.
