Montgomery’s economic summit, The Forum, named among top events in the world today MONTGOMERY, Ala. – London. Vienna. Tokyo. Montgomery? The 31st annual economic summit, The Forum, which took place at Wynlakes Golf and Country Club this morning, was highlighted as one of the top economic events in the world today by “Venture Capital Post.” Hundreds of business and community leaders gathered to discuss the nation’s economic outlook for 2014 at the event organized by Auburn University at Montgomery’s School of Business and the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. “Venture Capital Post” named it as a top economic event, on a list that included U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew’s visit to Tokyo to meet with the Japanese Finance Minister. Guest speakers included Kathleen Hays, host of The Hays Advantage on Bloomberg Radio and former CNN economics correspondent; Dennis Lockhart, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta; Mike Randle, founder of the Birmingham Business Journal and Southern Business & Development; and Mark Vitner, managing director and senior economist at Wells Fargo.
