Monuments Men wont stop your heart from non stop action or things blowing up or super slo-mo shots of someone flying through the air shooting a gun, and you know what?? THANK GOD for that. It tells the story of a small well-known group of unlikely war heroes who manage to save art from the Nazis. Not just a few pieces mind you. Over 5 million pieces of art, jewelry and other culturally significant items were recovered and saved from Hitler and his Nazi regime. Its not a story that everyone is aware of, but trust me, its an important true story that really hits hard when the movie is over. You realize what a monumental task these men and women took on and thankfully, achieved great success during the years they were active. Even after WWII was officially over. The actors did a fine job, the direction was good, but I went for more of a history lesson. And I know this movie doesnt tell the whole story. But, its a good place to start. I think Ill read the book now. Reel Deal Movie approved.
