Moonlight Serenade, Glenn Miller (1939) From 1939 to 1942 Millers orchestra redefined swing, with tenor saxophones at the center. Moonlight Serenade was the theme song of their hour-long radio show. The band dissolved when Miller enlisted to provide music for the Allies, broadcasting from Abbey Road Studios in London. Exactly 70 years ago, December 15, 1944, his plane went missing over the English Channel.
