Moot Court Association - Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia 5th Indian Vis Pre-Moot 2015 | By NUJS and NLUD and ICC | March 5-8 [Delhi] National Law University, Delhi and West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences are proud to bring to you the 5th Indian Vis Pre-Moot for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition, organised in association with the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris (ICC)! Unlike many other international moots, there are no national level qualification rounds for the Willem C. Vis moot court competition. Pre-moots are organised in a number of countries to provide teams with the opportunity to practice before the moot. India also organizes a pre-moot for teams to gain experience before the international rounds. The first such pre-moot was organised by the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. The 5th Indian Vis Pre-Moot, 2015 in association with the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris shall be organized by National Law University, Delhi and National University of Juridical Sciences Kolkata, and shall be held at the NLU Delhi campus. This year’s competition will be the largest pre-moot in Southeast Asia, along with substantial participation from international teams. It will provide teams with an unparalleled opportunity to practice their arguments on provisions of the ICC Rules in front of ICC Secretariat members, arbitrators with experience in ICC arbitrations and participants at previous editions of the Vis moot. Our judges bring with them a wealth of experience, which is why participants at previous editions of the Indian Vis Pre-Moot have performed exceedingly well in the actual competition. The 5th Indian Vis Pre-Moot will be held from 5th to 8th March, 2015. A detailed programme for the Pre-Moot with all relevant information will be sent to the selected teams in the beginning of 2015. The deadline for registration is 11:59 pm, 31 December, 2014 (Indian Standard Time). Please note that each institution must register only once. If there are two separate teams participating in the Vienna and Hong Kong rounds and both teams are interested in participating in the pre-moot, both teams should register together within the sameform. NLU Delhi will provide free on-campus accommodation for a limited number of teams on a first-come-first-served basis. However, the University’s current infrastructure allows for on-campus accommodation for only up to a maximum of four participants per team. There is a registration fee of INR 2000 (USD 32 or EUR 26) for all teams. We hope you will take advantage of this fantastic opportunity and register for the premoot.
