Morals and encouraging ethical behaviours among believers of the - TopicsExpress

Morals and encouraging ethical behaviours among believers of the post-penticost era were not an issue of concern. High level discipline and good conduct was exhibited by the early Christians of old. The level of reverence for God and his word back then, encourged the orderly conduct and good behavioural pattern and lifestyle of the people. Don‘t forget, there was just one church, one faith, and one unifying group of apostles propagating the good news. Even when the need for the gospel to spread to Judea, Samaria and other regions, it was just one tree with same fruit reproducing itself each place the different apostles went. Infact, they will usually visit each other to see how they were fairing. But when various degrees of re-interpretation and the so-called ‘revelations‘ each leader began to get of the same one word, one God and one Christ they all learnt and were taught under got a new dimension, the effect would be disastrious. Cast your mind back to when morals were about to suffer some level of compromise, Ananias and Sapphira were greatly judged and the fear of God and reverence for His commands grew more seriously. Little wonder then why the perpetual disregard for the word today is increasingly growing in tangent with church proliferation in our present generation. The today‘s church like every world acclaimed field of endeavour have created several niche for itself. There are these days, explanations for every doctrine propagated by various denominations today. Please understand me that in the very vital context of this brief, denomination and proliferation are not subject of condemnation. But also remember that the Bible says a house divided against itself cannot stand. The world and Christian faith has one common enemy - Satan, the devil. But today‘s crop of believers rather than understand this and unifyingly, courageously and consistently contending with him in battle, we spend the better part of our time waring and attacking each other. We now contest for who pulls the largest crowd. So sad.
