More Honk! Information from Mr. Abreu The play is open to students in 3rd through 5th grades, provided we have enough students to meet the cast’s needs. This is only due to the literacy demands placed on students, both in the music and in the scripts. Auditions are with Mr. Abreu in the music room before school at 6:30am. (The last day of auditions is tomorrow!) Due to limited resources and time, acting rehearsals will also take place before school at this same time. The performance will be May 6th and 7th. Due to the immense time commitment from both students and parents that a performance of this scope takes, I understand the need to be as informed as possible. Therefore, after students have auditioned, I will hold an informational meeting for parents and students in order for all parties to understand the commitment and responsibilities required for participation. The meeting will take place at 5:30 pm on Wednesday of next week (1/14/15). We will outline student responsibilities, along with a schedule of when certain parts need to attend morning rehearsals. Any other rehearsals will be held on Fridays during the day for full cast numbers and, tentatively on Tuesday afternoons for soloists.
