More Littleton/Airlie photos-Mary Elizabeth Nicholson Clark(Oct 3, 1866-May 12, 1954)wife of Samuel Johnston Clark(Mar 19, 1857-Nov 4, 1922).she was the Great-Great Grandmother of Brother John Acai and cousins John and Tom Skinner. She died in the former Roanoke Rapids Hospital of injuries received in an automobile on Hwy 48 near Brinklyville and Fishing Creek Bridge. One of her sons, Jack T Clark was taking her to a family home place and a car ran a Stop sign and crashed rather violently into their car. She and her husband are interred in the Clark-Thorne Cemetery near Airlie. Here husband passed away the night before Mother was born. I remember her great cooking, loving hugs and her constant smile and love of family. The presentation folder her photo is mounted in is embossed with the name Whiteside Studio, Littleton, NC. While the two most known photographers in Littleton were EB Perry and Clifton Alston I have never found a reference to Whiteside. Does anyone have reference to the same? Share and Enjoy! Stephen/OG
