More Naaman pictures - we have had some interest, but until Naaman is in his forever home, we will continue to post pictures, and hope that you will continue to help us by sharing them! We were asked for a refresher on his info, so here it is: Naaman is a black mouth cur, or cur mix, just under 2 years old. Hes a big, strong physical dog, weighing in at a little over 70 pounds. Black Mouth Curs have a burning desire to please their owner. Intelligent, predictable, with an even temperament, the Southern Curs are loyal to their families, giving their lives, if necessary, to protect them. They are good with children, but due to their size and strength, older children are a better fit. Due to their somewhat headstrong nature, a dog savvy owner is best, who is confident in handling a dog like this. It is important that this dog receives daily mental and physical exercise. Curs that lack in exercise can become high strung and rammy. Curs are a working breed of dog, and many people say that their hunting ability is the best there is. Training sessions should be short and frequent to keep them from becoming bored. Due to the working nature of these dogs, they tend to have a high prey drive, and are probably not suited for a home with cats. Please help us find the perfect home for Naaman. Naaman has been with us since February. He graduated with his CGC , then underwent heartworm treatment where he had to be in a kennel for 6 weeks only being able to be out of the kennel for potty breaks. He beat heartworms in July and is currently in board and train with one of our trainers, Aly, who has been giving him a refresher course on his CGC skills. Naamans perfect owner would be someone who is dog savvy and comfortable with large, physical dogs. This person would be someone who enjoys being physically active. A runner would be ideal, as Naaman loves to run, and according to Aly, is the PERECT running partner, staying focused on the running as his job, and ignoring everything around him. He would be a great companion to take hunting, camping, or hiking. We know these people dont spend a lot of time on Facebook, so please help us find them - Ill bet you have some friends just like this - please let them know about Naaman. PLEASE SHARE!!!! PLEASE REACH OUT TO ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO FITS THE OWNER PROFILE. Lets get this boy adopted , he deserves a place he can call home.
