Many children live their lives with the challenges of autism. They go to school with autism, play with autism, love with autism, talk with autism, and they run with autism. Join this community and run with them. On September 28, be a part of something remarkable, be a part of "Autism on the Run." MAPSS (Multilevel Applications and Positive Support Services) is celebrating the autism community of Kern County by creating a fun, community active event to raise autism awareness with a 5K called, "Autism on the Run." This is a family and autism-friendly 5K inviting runners and walkers alike at the starting line. Portion of the proceeds will benefit local, not-for-profit organizations. "Autism on the Run" will take place at California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) at 10am. Late registration will begin at 9:00am before the race. The 5K is untimed, and participants are welcome to fall between the spectrum of walking to running. Autism on the Run Policies A. Registration fees are non-refundable. B. You may transfer your registration to another individual before the event if you choose to no longer participate. C. Children six (6) years and younger are free. You may register your child for free using Active by clicking on the category "Toddlers Are Free" in order to sign their waiver. D. Parents are welcome to bring strollers for their children. Please note that registration fees will increase as the event approaches from $40, $45, to $50. On the day of the event, the on-site registration fee will be $50. You must pre-register by 9/15/2013 to be guaranteed a free T-shirt!
