More and more it is clear that it is NOT our political systems that determine the direction of our province but rather its institutions. From banks and big box (schools, stores, hospitals) to Public Service unions and the proliferation of ABCs (agencies, boards and commissions), at the top of which is the unelected and unaccountable Utility Review Board, we are going to have to work on a long line of too difficult issues and deeply powerful and intrenched institutions to bring substantial change to Nova Scotia. This is a great turkey of an example of framing the problem where we have to create, from scratch, a kind of ad hoc government (which includes members of the active government in order to gain the power to challenge the comedically obscure Nova Scotia Turkey Board.
