More cool songs you can listen to on a dark rainy night; where the wind is moaning through the trees and the cat is bristling at something outside the window: The name of the song is Nosferatu and it is sung by one of my favorite groups ever, Blue Oyster Cult. The album it comes from is chock full of songs that you could play at a Halloween party, in fact I would just put the CD (does anybody use those anymore?) on repeat all night long. However, one song sticks out and has a great back story to boot; Nosferatu was made as an homage to the great movie of the same name. The movie was made in 1922 and sports one of the strangest actors to have ever graced (disgraced?) a movie screen. Max Schreck played the strange Count Orlok, who was a representation of Dracula. The story goes that there was some copyright problems with the use of the character Dracula in the film by F.W. Murnau, so he decided to use another character in his stead; Count Orlok. Some say that the actor, Schreck, was in fact a vampire. Others say that he was just a very eccentric method actor. Either way, the song is as wonderfully eerie as the movie. For that matter, I would recommend that you watch the movie, as well. There is also another version of the making of Nosferatu called Shadow of The Vampire starring Willem Dafoe as Max Schreck and John Malkovich as F.W. Murnau. Anyway, heres the song: youtu.be/IJIS4c3pwsA
