More details are forthcoming about the search for Jerry Lauderback, the Caney man who has been reported missing today (Tuesday).... • Montgomery County Sheriff Bobby Dierks said Lauderback, age 60, apparently was bitten by a snake this morning and became disoriented as a result of that bite. Prompt medical attention is needs to be administered to Mr. Lauderback if he is located, Dierks said. • According to scanner traffic, Mr. Lauderback has made contact to a 911 dispatcher. However, he is unable to provide information as to his whereabouts or location. • Helicopter units from the Kansas Highway Patrol and Oklahoma Highway Patrol have been in the air this morning while members of the Montgomey County Sheriffs Department, Caney Police Department, Coffeyville Police Department and other area law enforcement agencies have bee searching roads and countryside for Mr. Lauderback or for his vehicle, which is 1989 model pickup truck, single cab with two doors, gray in color, license tag KS 354 DXX.
