More evidence we need to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment: CBO projects deficits will narrow slightly, but begin to grow significantly in 2018 if we maintain our current spending levels. We have made progress since I came to Washington in 2011 by reducing discretionary spending each year. However, as the National Debt recently soared past $18 trillion we were reminded there is a long way to go. If American families have to balance their budgets, the federal government should be required to do so as well.
