More free advice for aspiring young-ish riders--- Its VERY KEY that you start to become obsessed with learning the difference between horses that are just OK, pretty good, and potentially elite. Why? Not because you can`t become a very good rider on nice horses, because you can. You can learn to have an amazing seat, a Deadeye Dick eye for a distance, many skills, on horses that are pretty good. But elite horses let you fly. All horses are not created equal. If you think that, ask Sham. What you need to do is to make yourself into the kind of rider who can do justice to an elite horse, so that IF one comes along, you will: A. Be able to spot it. B. Be able to ride it. By riding nice horses like these four, Lighting Magic, Jet Host, Cat, House Guest, others, and working on my skills acquisition, I was ready to be able to do some justice to the towering talent of Victor Dakin, when I was was able to get the ride on him when I was 32.
