More from Meadows: Making Bonus Depreciation Permanent Act passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 258 to 160. By permanently extending 50 percent bonus depreciation, this bill allows companies to have better access to capital, invest in new facilities, and thereby create American jobs. With 50 percent bonus depreciation, businesses can immediately deduct, or “expense,” half of the cost of new equipment purchases. Improving our business climate through bonus depreciation is an effective way to promote economic growth, facilitate job creation, and increase wages. I hope to see this legislation pass the United States Senate and signed into law by the President.
