More from Mundelein Seminary on the International Eucharistic Congress hosted by Chicago from June 20-24, 1926: Did you know that Mundelein Seminary was the destination of the largest transportation effort in American history? In 1926 the International Eucharistic Congress was held in Chicago and its closing ceremonies were at Mundelein Seminary. Temporary train terminals were built to handle the crowds. Hundreds of police and volunteers monitored 400 miles of restricted highways for pilgrims flocking to Mundelein in cars, on rail, and on foot. (Kahover, Gail. Mundelein Seminary, 2014)
