More in the memory of Professor Harry Jaffa. I dont recall the exact date of this heated exchange between Jaffa and Thomas DiLorenzo. It took place at the Independent Institute in Oakland, California. I flew with Jaffa and escorted him to the event. (Im sitting two rows from the front, on the left side of the screen.) I think I was the only member of the audience on Jaffas, and Lincolns, side. The room was filled with seething Lincoln-hating libertarians, some of whom literally could not contain their anger during the book signing session after the debate. It got ugly at one point. Later, when we were having dinner together, I asked Professor Jaffa why he wanted me to come with him. I wanted a bodyguard! he said, why else?
