More information coming in on the upcoming storm system as we approach the 72 hour window for this storm system. The pieces of energy that we are concerned with will both be over land this evening and even more information will come our way as we get some upper air data coming in. **What were looking at.. a potentially high impact event for the Wednesday time frame. The precipitation would likely be moving in during the last half of the day and last through Thursday morning. Uncertainties: As always, everything stems from the track and where the two pieces of energy will phase. The track determines how much falls as snow and ultimately how much snow does fall. Right now, seeing over 6 is not out of the question, with potentially more possible given the most ideal track. There could be a rain/snow mix at the coast should the track be a touch more inland: 10-20 miles makes a difference As Ive been talking about for the last 24 hours, if you have travel plans in and around the east coast from Virginia to Maine, whether driving or flying, now would be the best time to find your Plan B. Ill continue to keep you updated on my page and on air over the next few days, with more specific details available after work tomorrow when I can sit down to analyze more data (its hard to do that from the field). Be sure to tune in at 4:30am tomorrow for the latest on your holiday forecast. Ill be in Augusta at the Farrington School for Weather At Your School.
