More lies from Enda Kenny, this time about the PEACEFUL protesters of Sligo. There were women and children at the protest last night, do they agree with Mr. Kenny? --- Taoiseach Enda Kenny has accused protesters at a demonstration in Sligo last night of showing scant regard for the safety of women and children. In hard hitting remarks this morning, Mr Kenny said that those who protested had earlier given their word that they would not behave obstructively. He said : “Democracy is for everybody. Maybe you should go and ask the people who carry on like that. Certainly in Sligo last night they showed scant regard for women and children who were there. He refused to say whether consideration will now be given to providing ministers with additional security. Asked to respond to his own treatment at a Fine Gael event in Sligo last night, the Taoiseach replied: I think you should go and interview the people who gave their word to the gardai that they wouldnt either block the road and carry on the way they did. Theyre responsible for that. Mr Kenny refused to be drawn on reports that the government will delay the introduction of charges by three months. Weve made it very clear I hope that government will deal with all these issues tomorrow, it will be announced in the Dail, he said ahead of this mornings Cabinet meeting. Mr Kenny said that householders will learn tomorrow what they are paying for, the contribution they have to make, and what theyre getting in return for it. Finance Minister Michael Noonan described the treatment of Tanaiste Joan Burton at a demonstration in Jobstown on Saturday as unacceptable. Also speaking this morning, Environment Minister Alan Kelly described the governments water plan as a very good package, adding that it will bring reasonable people with us.
