More news on Debbie: I went to St. Marys today to visit Debbie and she had several friends that were spending time with her. A little later one of the heart doctors came into her room and for the first time I learned that Debbie had a heart attack during her illness while she was in ICU. This heart attack happened sometime around December 16th and I am just now learning about it on January 5th. The doctor said they will run tests on her heart tomorrow and will find out if any damage was done to her heart. Debbie is still doing dialysis and there is a possibility that this could be permanent, but at this time we do not know. Debbies cognitive abilities are improving, but she is still suffering from some confusion and flights of fancy. It is still unsettling for me to see her this way and people keep telling me that this could last for a while, but I am ready for her to get back to herself concerning her mind. Nevertheless, no matter what happens I will be here for her, I just want my old Debbie back. Debbie told me more details about when she saw her daddy and talked to him. She said that this conversation took place on some property her grandfather owned in Kentucky and she sat down by a beautiful stream on that property and that is where she talked to her dad. She talked about how peaceful it was and how much she enjoyed being with her daddy again. Debbie did not say this, but I got the feeling she loved seeing her daddy so much she wanted to stay with him, but he told her that she had to go back and I am thankful that her daddy brought her back to me. We are still not sure just what all Debbie will be facing in her future. She may have heart problems, she may be on dialysis for the rest of her life, and she may have diminished mental faculties so this story is far from being over. We have to get her through her continuing medical problems, through her physical therapy, and then get her home and hopefully she will convalesce there until she is ready to resume her life. Guy
