More of my thoughts on why we shouldnt #cancelcolbert From what I understand, it seems like Colbert was showing Snyders position to be ridiculous by being ridiculous, adding an over-the-top comparrison. Its similar to when, in philosophical discourse, people argue that the consequences of accepting a position would lead to absurd conclusions...so if Snyders position is OK, then Colberts mascot must be OK too (but since Colberts mascot is not OK, the Redskins mascot is not OK). Colbert even used reasoning like Snyder to prove this point and the audience laughed (...but our mascot is part of the Colbert Nation!). I think this presentation is quite effective.
