More on the DRZ400. I removed the old grey BMW heat shield that I had installed on the muffler, sanded, painted it black then reinstalled it. After lowering the motorcycle an inch I need to shorten the side stand so I cut a 1 1/4 section out of it. Then I used metal-bond and piece of pipe to put it back together. I put metal-bond on the pipe, inserted it into the side stand tube and pushed the 2 pieces together then drilled through the tube and pipe in a couple of places and installed roll pins. Touched up he paint and used a chrome Harley side stand spring, that I had as a spare, when I reinstalled the stand.
