More on the UKSC Song Writing Competition -- We entered 3 songs actually but were told earlier in the year that WWW.Tonight didnt make it to the Semifinals or Finals, so we kinda like dropped tracking the song altogether. The song was Melissa Janes first ever composition at least 2 years back, we had just got Reason and werent that good with it, so the recording values are a little sketchy. Then again, they dont judge on production quality, just the song itself. Anyway, now that the results are out, we searched the song score again and whatdaya know! It didnt do too badly after all! It scored a 6, just 1 point behind On the Wings of a Dream Ross entry. Heres an explanation from UKSC on how they score a song:“A score of 4, 5 and 6 indicates that the writer has demonstrated real songwriting ability and understanding and songs with these scores will receive a Commended Entry Certificate. The UKSC attracts a high standard of entries and the majority of songs in this contest will usually fall somewhere in this range. A score of 6 can be regarded as a borderline semi finalist score and indicates that the song nearly made it into the semi finals”. Melissa got a Commended Entry Certificate too! Not bad eh? Heres a vid of the song. An upbeat one to end the year!
