More on this morning, mi compa and I went to Ciros for breakfast and zaz there was a Chicano poster dedicated to Ruben Salazar, hope you can read the bottom, so after checking out the plaque we went to check out the silver dollar its the blue building on the west side is a jewelry place advertising Silver on the East side a Dollar Store so Silver Dollar where Ruben Salazar was assassinated, there is a small plaque on the wall, its a small store front church, I checked out the back, very little is said about the back door, I have suspicions, Across the street is a famous music shop, oldies stuff, elvis in the front, all kinds of rolas, there is a photo of Lato Guerrero attention Dan Guerrero and Mark Guerrero and then memorabilia with a sign from the Silver Dollar itself? I bought a CD of Lalos I had lost and couldnt find Recuerdos Memorias, really a history of his work put out in the 80s, my tio Rudolfo Urias who was a friend of Lalo in school days in Tucson (Lalo went to help him serenade my Tia Artemisa) he sent a set of taped recording including these to my dad in the eighties, great memorias, better history. Our grass roots history is on the streets todavia.
