More support and a promise to Dieu Cay and his family About 60 people, many of them are retired high-level officials such as former ambassador or former deputy-minister and influential intellectuals in Vietnam and overseas, just wrote a petition to President Truong Tan Sang and PM Nguyen Tan Dung, asking them to care for Dieu Cay’s hunger strike and to save Dieu Cay. And another group of dozen living in Saigon, most of them are former Vietcong soldiers in the Vietnam war, also today made public their concern over Dieu Cay’s health and their financial support worth 10 million VND (about 500 US dollars) to Dieu Cay’s family. Today an official from Ministry of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thanh Du, received Ms Duong Thi Tan, ex-wife of Dieu Cay, accepting her complaint over Dieu Cay issue, and promised next week the authorities would provide a decision to the complaint.
